Have you ever thought, "I'll just wait until life settles down to start (insert that thing you've been saying you'd do for months/years)"?
We know.. Trust us, we know. Life gets crazy, and sometimes it's hard to get all of the things done that we want to do. But here's the not-so-easy-to-stomach truth; it's not that you don't have time. It's that you have other things higher on your priority list.
Try that on for a second, saying it's not a priority to do whatever it is you've been saying you don't have the time to do. Then, decide whether you want it to be a priority or not. We all have the same number of hours in a day, and everyone has a long list of priorities and things to do in hours between when their eyes open in the morning and their head hits the pillow at night. But, you know what? Feeling guilty or bad about your chosen priorities wont serve you in a beneficial way. What's important is that you're clear about the power you have to make those decisions, every day.
Starting today, try these 3 things:
1. Write down some of the things you've been saying you'd do, but haven't.
2. Decide whether or not you want those things to be a priority in your life. If the answer is no, stop beating yourself up about not doing them, and let it go. If the answer is yes, you do want them to be a priority, then find a way to schedule the time to make them just that.
3. Be realistic. Start small, and work up from there. Find someone that will support you (and hold you accountable) in this decision.
